How to Use the trap

Eco Terminator® moth traps are an easy and effective way to control Carpet moths. The traps lure adult moths with pheromones, and the sticky surface traps them. These traps can be placed in your wardrobe or storage areas to prevent infestations, or to help get rid of existing ones.

Traditional mothballs are toxic and not recommended for use as they may pose a risk to people or pets if used improperly. Instead, consider using our pheromone sticky traps to monitor and control the population of carpet moths.

We also recommend combined use of Swedish Red Cedar Oil and Eco Terminator® Carpet moth traps as the best way to get rid of carpet moths.

Swedish Red Cedar oil is a natural, non-toxic way to control carpet moths. The oil repels moths and thereby rids your home of larvae, and eggs. It can be used as a preventative measure, or to get rid of an infestation.

How do I get rid of carpet moths?

Step 1: Cleaning

If you think you have a carpet moth infestation, it is important to take action immediately.

Use a vacuum with a crevice attachment to clean out all corners of the room. Wash the surfaces with warm water and soap to remove any remaining food, eggs, or cocoons. Wash all clothes. You can also if possible place them in vacuum sealed bags.

Step 2: Place Swedish Red Carpet Moth traps

Carpet moth traps are an easy and effective way to control carpet moths. The traps lure adult moths with pheromones, and the sticky surface traps them. These traps can be placed in your wardrobe and storage areas to prevent infestations, or to help get rid of existing ones.

Step 3: Spray Swedish Red Cedar Oil

Swedish Red Cedar oil is a natural, non-toxic way to control carpet moths. The oil repels moths and because of this prevents larvae, and eggs. It can be used as a preventative measure, or to get rid of an infestation.

Cedar oil can be sprayed directly on cedarwood blocks, pantry shelves, and in cracks and crevices where moths may be hiding.

Red Cedar Oil FAQ

The three steps to rid your home of common pests using Red Cedar Oil and/or Swedish Red Traps:

1. Clean up properly!
For many common pests, the problem is that a messy / humid environment creates the ideal living space for the pest in question. Clean thoroughly and create open spaces.

2. Spray Red Cedar Oil and place red cedarwood blocks
The scent of Swedish Red cedarwood oil deters most common pests found in British homes (be sure to double check with our guides first if you are unsure). Place red cedarwood blocks in particularly affected areas and spray / drip red cedar oil on the wood so it keeps the scent much longer.

How to Use Swedish Red Cedar Spray

Apply in all the rooms at one go along any potential nook and crannies where
you might have an infestation. Simply spray the oil under the bed, sofa,
in your wardrobe and along the edges of your floor. Or spray the oil on
red cedar wood blocks and place in the house where you want to keep pests away or in your wardrobe to keep moths from ruining your clothes.

3. Place traps
For already affected areas, you can also place traps here to catch the
